Sensational invention: first smoke alarm with snooze function

Hanover (dpo) - Finally! Now you can simply roll over and go back to sleep when there is a fire. Safety equipment manufacturer Bebus has developed a new kind smoke detector especially for the bedroom and it comes with a snooze function.

According to the company’s press release, the smoke detector will come with a remote control to put next to your alarm clock on your bedside table. In the event of a fire, the smoke detector can then easily be paused for ten minutes each time you press the button on the remote control.
The Postillon has learned that Bebus is also working on alternative sounds to the rather unpleasant, shrill beeping made by standard smoke alarms. Currently, the company is experimenting with birdsong at gradually increasing volumes and a completely silent dimmer solution that slowly brightens the light in the room.
